Mark Eliyahu - Journey

Born in Soviet Dagestan in 1982, Mark moved to Israel as a child with his parents—his father a composer and his mother a violinist. While he grew up surrounded by music, his life changed forever at age 16 when he heard a recording of the (an ancient spiked fiddle) by master Habil Aliyev.

Upon returning to Israel, Mark found his family had moved to the Judean Desert. He spent hours playing in the solitude of the desert and in caves, "talking to nature" through his instrument.
