A is an altered state of consciousness characterized by narrowed attention, deep relaxation, and enhanced responsiveness to internal imagery or suggestion. It represents a shift away from the critical, analytical, and logical mind (associated with beta brainwaves) toward the intuitive, imaginative, and subconscious mind (associated with alpha or theta waves).
