" Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage " is a 2008 semi-autobiographical film directed by Michael Campus . Returning home from college, a young Thomas Kinkade ( Jared Padalecki ) discovers his mother (Marcia Gay Harden) is in danger of losing their family cottage to foreclosure.
