The story begins with a pawn shop robbery in New Mexico that goes violently wrong. Two thieves, (Dorff) and the psychopathic Alex (Hirsch), along with a wounded accomplice, take a bystander named Grace (Zumbado) hostage as they flee. After their car breaks down, the group seeks refuge at a remote farmhouse owned by a "Grandfather" and his grandson.
