Set in 1837, the story follows the enthusiastic but largely incompetent as he attempts to win the "Pirate of the Year" award after decades of failure. His journey takes a turn when he captures the scientist Charles Darwin , who reveals that the Captain’s pet "parrot," Polly, is actually the world's last living Dodo bird .
