Three years after the Beacon Mental Hospital incident, Sebastian Castellanos is a broken man, haunted by the fire that supposedly killed his daughter, Lily, and the disappearance of his wife, Myra. His downward spiral is interrupted by Juli Kidman, his former partner and secret agent for the mysterious organization Mobius. Kidman reveals a world-shattering truth: Lily is alive, but she is being used as the "Core" for a new STEM system called Union, a simulated idyllic town. However, Union is collapsing, Mobius has lost contact with Lily, and the team sent to retrieve her has gone dark.
