Walden eventually misses Alan and tries to bring him home, but Herb, desperate for companionship, tries to prevent Alan from leaving. Ultimately, Alan returns to the beach house, though the episode ends with Walden suggesting a "shared custody" arrangement for Alan with Herb after catching Alan in an embarrassing moment on the couch. Where to Watch

To make amends, Alan replaces Walden's high-end toaster with a cheap, low-quality version. Walden's criticism of the new toaster leads to a heated argument, resulting in Alan moving out.

After being rejected by his girlfriend Lyndsey, Alan moves in with Walden's ex-husband's ex-husband, a lonely Herb Melnick. While they initially enjoy playing with Herb's miniature trains, Alan soon becomes unsettled by Herb's increasingly odd behavior.
