In the 2019 action-comedy , JJ Shaft (Jessie T. Usher) is a tech-savvy MIT graduate and rookie FBI analyst whose world is turned upside down when his best friend Karim dies of a suspicious drug overdose. JJ knows Karim was clean and suspects foul play, but his lack of "street smarts" leaves him out of his depth in the Harlem underworld.
