Traditionally, Fluttershy spends Nightmare Night barricaded in her cottage to avoid the "scary things" of the night. However, out of a desire to be with her friends and not "miss out" on their fun, she decides to face her fears. Her initial attempts to join the public celebrations at end in failure as she is too easily frightened by costumes and games.
