Henry(2016) - Punching

(2016) is a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama directed by Gregori Viens and co-written by its star, Henry Phillips. It serves as a sequel to the 2009 film Punching the Clown . Plot Overview

The story follows Henry Phillips, a real-life satirical songwriter and comedian playing a version of himself. Lured to Los Angeles by a veteran TV producer (played by J.K. Simmons), Henry is pitched a reality show based on his life. However, the project soon turns into a cruel experiment as producers attempt to rebrand him as "Mr. Epic Fail" after a video of him accidentally setting his hair on fire goes viral. Throughout the film, Henry recounts his misadventures via a podcast interview with Sarah Silverman, grappling with whether it is better to fail on his own terms or succeed as a punchline for others.
