Written and directed by Jeff Nichols, is a Southern Gothic coming-of-age drama set in the rural Arkansas delta along the Mississippi River. The film follows two 14-year-old boys, Ellis (Tye Sheridan) and Neckbone (Jacob Lofland), who discover a charismatic fugitive named Mud (Matthew McConaughey) living in a boat stranded high in a tree on a remote island.
