(areola).mp4: Kari
Hello and welcome to our video about the areola, also known as Kari. The areola is the darker skin surrounding the nipple of the breast. It's a vital part of the female anatomy, and yet, it's often not well understood. In this video, we'll explore the areola's structure, functions, and importance.
The areola plays a crucial role in breastfeeding and infant nutrition. The Montgomery's tubercles on the areola produce oil that helps to lubricate the nipple and make it more comfortable for the baby to latch on. The areola also contains nerve endings that help to stimulate milk letdown, or the "milk ejection reflex," which helps to release milk from the breast. Kari (areola).mp4
