Gakkou Gurashi! Now

The girls froze. The sound of scratching against metal—fingernails on steel—pierced the air. Taromaru barked, his fur standing on end.

Yuuri handed a cracker to Yuki, her hand trembling slightly. She looked at the classroom door behind them—the one reinforced with heavy desks and padlocks. The supplies were running low. The water filter was acting up. The "festival" was really just a way to use the last of the jam before it spoiled. Suddenly, a loud thump echoed from the stairwell. Gakkou Gurashi!

The delusional veil flickered for a split second. To Yuki, the door was decorated with streamers. To the others, it was a barricade under siege. The girls froze

“See?” Yuki laughed, grabbing Kurumi’s hand and pulling her into a clumsy dance. “You can’t have a festival without dancing!” Yuuri handed a cracker to Yuki, her hand trembling slightly

The scratching intensified. A low, guttural moan vibrated through the wood of the door. Yuki blinked, her smile faltering for just a moment as the gray reality bled into her bright world. She saw the cracks in the pavement, the bloodstains on Kurumi’s skirt, the hollow look in Yuuri’s eyes. Then, she squeezed her eyes shut and spun around.

“Yeah, Yuki,” Kurumi said, forced a smile as she wiped a smudge of dried blood from the blade of her shovel. “It’s a real party.”

Should we focus a new story on a or explore a scavenging mission outside the school walls?
