In 2012, Pandora was the only place anyone wanted to be. The hype for Gearbox’s sequel had reached a fever pitch in the Hungarian gaming community, but for a student like Márk, the price tag might as well have been a billion Vault Symbols. "Just one click," he whispered.

He hit the download button. The client sprang to life, connecting to peers across the globe. He watched the progress bar crawl forward: 10%, 35%, 82%. In his mind, he was already stepping off the train into the frozen wastes of Windshear Waste, ready to face Handsome Jack.

Two weeks later, Márk saw a sale on a legitimate digital storefront. He looked at his level 30 Assassin, then at his bank account. He deleted the torrent, bought the official Game of the Year edition, and started over. As Claptrap high-fived him in the opening scene, Márk realized that while the "letöltés" was free, the peace of mind was worth every Forint.

But as the file reached 99.9%, his antivirus screamed. A bright red window popped up: Threat Detected.

The launcher opened. The iconic acoustic guitar riff of "Short Change Hero" began to play. The cel-shaded graphics popped onto his screen, vibrant and chaotic. He had made it to Pandora.

He spent the next hour scouring the web for a "clean" crack. He navigated through a maze of pop-up ads for shady casinos and dating sites, his heart racing every time a new tab opened. Eventually, he found a patch that seemed to work.

Márk froze. Was it a false positive? Or had he just invited a Hyperion-grade virus into his motherboard? He looked at the file name again. It looked legitimate, but the comments below the post were a battlefield of "Köszi!" (Thanks!) and "Vigyázzatok, trójai!" (Watch out, Trojan!).

The air in the dimly lit room smelled of stale energy drinks and overclocked hardware. Márk stared at the flickering cursor on his screen, his finger hovering over the mouse. On the monitor, a forum thread titled (Borderlands 2 torrent download – Working version!) glowed like a siren’s song.
