The story, based on Charles Perrault's fairy tale, follows (voiced by Mary Costa in the original version). Cursed at birth by the evil fairy Maleficent to die on her 16th birthday after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel spindle, Aurora is hidden in the forest by three good fairies— Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather .
