As the two groups prepare for a violent standoff at the Vatos' base, it is revealed that the base is actually a nursing home . The "gangster" persona of the Vatos was a facade designed to protect the elderly residents they were caring for after the staff abandoned them during the outbreak. Rick ultimately shares some of his weapons with them.

The episode explores themes of preconception vs. reality (the Vatos) and the constant, unpredictable threat of the post-apocalyptic world (the camp attack). 4. Vatos

The episode follows , Daryl Dixon, T-Dog, and Glenn Rhee as they return to Atlanta to retrieve a bag of guns Rick dropped in a previous episode and to find Daryl's brother, Merle. As the two groups prepare for a violent
