Elias had found it while decommissioning his late father’s 2004 workstation. Most of the drive was a graveyard of broken links and outdated software, but this file—hidden in a directory labeled System_Temp/DoNotDelete —felt different. He double-clicked.

Elias stared at the screen, his breath hitching. His father had been gone for five years, yet the file was growing. It was a digital inheritance, a blueprint being sent from a place that didn't exist on any map.
